Bill Burton Fishing Pier State Park

Calvert Cliffs State Park

Located in Calvert County on 1,311 acres with access to Chesapeake Bay. Features fossil hunting, hiking trails, fishing, hunting, picnicking, youth group camping, playground and shelters.

Casselman River Bridge State Park

Located in Garrett County on 4 acres with access to Casselman River. Featuring a historic bridge and a popular fishing location.

Chapel Point State Park

Located in Charles County on 821 acres with access to Port Tobacco River. (largely undeveloped, features fishing and hunting)

Chapman State Park

Cunningham Falls State Park

Dans Mountain State Park

Located in Allegany County on 482 acres. Features an Olympic sized swimming pool with waterslide and refreshment stand, fishing, hiking, picnic areas, playground and pavilions.

Deep Creek Lake State Park

Elk Neck State Park

Located in Cecil County on 2,369 acres with access to Chesapeake Bay. Home of Turkey Point Light; beach, picnicking, seasonal convenience store, camping, cabins, nature center, trails for hiking and biking, hunting, with various water sports access.

Fort Frederick State Park

Located in Washington County on 722 acres with access to Potomac River and Big Pool Lake. Features Stone fortification built by colonial Province of Maryland from the French and Indian War (1754-1763); visitors center, picnicking, boating, fishing, hiking and camping.

Fort Tonoloway State Park

Franklin Point State Park

Gambrill State Park

Gathland State Park

Greenwell State Park

Located in St Mary’s County on 596 acres with access to Patuxent River. Features historic Rosedale Manor House, picnicking, swimming, non-motorized boating, hiking, equestrian and cycling trails, fishing and hunting.

Gunpowder Falls State Park

Located in Baltimore and Harford Counties on 14,949 acres with access to Gunpowder River and Dundee Creek. Features multiple non-contiguous recreational areas: Picnicking, hiking, biking, horseback riding, cross-country skiing, hunting and various water sports.

Hallowing Point State Park

Located in Calvert County on 13 acres with access to Patuxent River. 

Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad State Park

Located in Dorchester County on 17 acres. Dedicated to the life and work of abolitionist and Underground Railroad activist Harriet Tubman.

Hart-Miller Island State Park

Located in Baltimore County on 244 acres with access to Back River and Chesapeake Bay. (accessible only by boat; 3,000-foot sandy beach)

Herrington Manor State Park

Located in Garrett County on 365 acres with access to Herrington Creek. Features swimming, non-motorized boating, picnicking, hiking, tennis, volleyball and cabins.

Janes Island State Park

Located in Somerset County on 3,160 acres with access to Chesapeake Bay. Features visitors center, conference center, picnicking, cabins, camping, camp store and various water sports.

Martinak State Park

Matapeake State Park

Located in Queen Anne’s County on 21 acres with access to Chesapeake Bay. 

Matthew Henson State Park

Located in Montgomery County on 100 acres. Features a greenway for hiking and biking.

New Germany State Park

Located in Garrett County on 483 acres. Features swimming, fishing, picnicking, boat launch, boat rental, canoeing, camping, cabins, hiking trail, cross-country skiing and nature center.

Newtowne Neck State Park

Located in St Mary’s County on 794 acres with access to Potomac River. Features non-motorized boating, hiking, picnicking and fishing.

North Point State Park

Located in Baltimore County on 1,328 acres with access to Black River, Patapsco River and Chesapeake Bay. Features the former site of the Bay Shore Amusement Park; visitors center, swimming, hiking and biking trails, pier and shore fishing and picnicking.

Palmer State Park

Patapsco Valley State Park

Located in Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Howard Counties on 14,270 acres with access to Upper Patapsco River. Featuring Hiking, horseback and mountain bike trails, picnicking, canoeing, fishing, camping and historical touring.

Patuxent River State Park

Located in Howard and Montgomery Counties on 6,703 acres with access to Patuxent River. Features hunting, fishing, hiking and horseback riding.

Pocomoke River State Park

Located in Worcester County on 916  acres with access to Pocomoke River. Featuring a visitors center, swimming pool, biking and hiking trails, boat launch, boat rental, fishing, flat water canoeing, camping, camp store and picnicking.

Point Lookout State Park

Located in St. Mary’s County on 1,079 acres with access to Chesapeake Bay and Potomac River. Features American Civil War prisoner-of-war camp museum and Marshland Nature Center, swimming, picnicking, boat launch, boat rental, camping, cabins, camp store, fishing, canoeing, hiking trails and hunting.

Rocks State Park

Located in Harford County on 1,060 acres with access to Deer Creek. Featuring fishing, hiking, picnicking, wading, canoeing and tubing, bow hunting, rock climbing and repelling.

Rocky Gap State Park

Located in Allegany County on 3,119 acres with access to Lake Habeeb. Features boating, camping, fishing and hiking.

Rosaryville State Park

Sandy Point State Park

Located in Anne Arundel County on 786 acres with access to Chesapeake Bay. Featuring swimming, fishing, crabbing, boating, picnicking and windsurfing.

Sang Run State Park

Located in Garrett County on 81 acres. Features a 1800’s homestead and store.

Seneca Creek State Park

Located in Montgomery County on 6,313 acres with access to Seneca Creek. Features Rock Mill, Seneca Schoolhouse; boating, fishing, picnicking and disc golf

Smallwood State Park

Located in Charles County on 984 acres with access to Mattawoman Creek. Features a “Smallwood’s Retreat” historic site; marina, picnicking, camping and nature trails.

South Mountain State Park

Located in Frederick and Washington Counties on 7,520 acres. Runs the length of South Mountain; Appalachian Trail; contiguous with other national, state and local parks.

St. Clement's Island State Park

Located in St. Mary’s County on 62 acres with access to Potomac River. Only accessible by boat; reconstructed lighthouse, memorial to first Marylanders landing March 25th, 1634 (Maryland Day); hiking, picnicking and fishing.

South Mountain State Park

Located in St. Mary’s County on 2,643 acres with access to St Mary’s Lake. Features hiking, horseback and biking trails, picnicking, boat launch, canoeing, fishing and hunting.

Susquehanna State Park

Located in Cecil and Harford Counties on 1,114 acres with access to Susquehanna River and Upper Chesapeake Bay. Features Rock Run Historical Area; fishing, camping, picnicking, boating and hiking trails.

Swallow Falls State Park

Located in Garrett County on 257 acres with access to Youghiogheny River. Features camping, hiking, picnicking and nature programs

Tuckahoe State Park

Located in Caroline and Queen Anne’s Counties on 1,598 acres with access to Tuckahoe Creek. Featuring hiking, biking and equestrian trails, canoeing, picnicking, camping, cabins, hunting and archery.

Swallow Falls State Park

Located in Frederick and Washington Counties on 191 acres. Features 1827 stone monument to first President George Washington by citizens of nearby Boonsboro; picnicking and hiking on the Appalachian Trail.
